About

Food

Yes, I eat paleoish.

No, I don’t restrict my diet to a cavemans.

I eat real food that tastes great and that doesn’t harm my body or inhibit me in any way. I try to limit foods that has a negative effect on me, sometimes due to antinutrients, lactose or gluten. I have no known allergies but I am sensitive to what I put in my body. I feel and function better on some types of food, but as a true food lover I am known to break my own rules and hence pay the consequences.

There are as many diets as there are people in the world, none of them holds the key to health alone. I used to eat “Fitness” with high protein and low fat, I was too skinny and my digestion was miserable. I intuitively started eating more paleoish before I ever heard the word “Paleo”. I now have a name for it, but my diet is my own. It’s not restricted by any rules other than those I make myself based on experience of what does and doesn’t work for my body, a whole lot of reading (I’m a nutritional science geek) and my ever changing physical goals.

I normally eat high protein and high fat to for those reasons, that doesn’t mean I run scared from carbohydrates. I love all macros equally.  One love, be healthy, be happy.

 Fitness

Yes, I train.

No, I don’t compete in anything.

I train to be better than I was yesterday, to be happy and healthy for as long as this world sees fit to keep me. I only have one body and I want it to last  – I want it to be able to climb mountains, carry grocery bags (mine are heavy!) and dance the night away for a long long time to come. I train my weaknesses and my strengths, I try to push my limits without causing harm. I love setting new goals and finding things I can become better at, luckily I suck at a whole bunch of stuff! While the whole time life happens, and as I fail repeatedly, I always get back up.

I will train anything and everything; I walk, hike, lift, gymnastics, CrossFit and biceps curl! I don’t discriminate, it’s all fitness. I love some forms (lifting) better than others (running), but that only means I win bigger when I do the latter. One love, be fit, be happy.

 Balance

I love abs but I love chocolate and nut butters more…hence Food before Fitness – but I like to challenge that too occasionally! Balance is key.
